Diaz (elbow) tossed a scoreless inning during a rehab appearance Monday with High-A Lancaster, conceding one hit and striking out one batter.

It was Diaz's first appearance in a game in more than a year following Tommy John surgery in March of 2016. The right-hander will likely require several more rehab outings at multiple minor-league affiliates before the Rockies activate him from the 10-day disabled list, perhaps at some point in May. He'd likely be ticketed for low-leverage work initially upon rejoining the big club, but could move up in the bullpen pecking order if he performs well.
