Rockies reliever Gonzalez Germen worked around a hit and a walk in the bottom of the 16th inning early Wednesday morning against the Dodgers to claim his first save of the season.
Germen was the 13th and final pitcher the Rockies used in the game, setting a franchise record. The save opportunity came about for Germen after regular closer John Axford coughed up a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the 11th inning.
