Bonifacio went 2-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's extra-inning loss to the Twins.

His third-inning blast, Bonifacio's third homer of the season, looked like it would hold up as the game-winning hit until Kelvin Herrera blew the save in the ninth. The 23-year-old outfielder seems to be sliding into a platoon role -- he got the start Friday with Brandon Moss on the bench against lefty Hector Santiago -- but given Bonifacio's .323/.389/.452 slash line over the last two weeks, the Royals may begin to use him more frequently at the expense of slumping veterans like Alex Gordon.
