Karns left Friday's start because of stiffness at the top of his forearm, manager Ned Yost told Shane Jackson of MLB.com. He gave up one run on five hits with three strikeouts before departing.

It was Karns' fourth straight start throwing at least five innings and allowing two or fewer runs, so hopefully the stiffness isn't a serious ailment.
