Manager Ned Yost said Karns (forearm) "feels normal," but has yet to progress beyond playing catch, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports reports.

It's been a slow road back for the right-hander, who has been out since mid-May with the injury and was shut down earlier this month amidst his recovery program. On the bright side, Karns has begun throwing again and appears ready to ramp up his activity if all continues to go well. Expect him to make a minor-league rehab assignment before he returns to the Royals' rotation sometime in July.
