Farmer will be optioned back to Triple-A Toledo after his spot start Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Farmer was brilliant while making a spot start during Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox, striking out 11 batters over 6.1 shutout innings. The right-hander will make his way back to the minors for now, but has shown his ability to compete at the major-league level and could certainly be in line for further pitching opportunities in the future.
