Hicks was recalled from Triple-A Toledo after Friday's game against Texas, MLive.com reports.

Hicks was expected to be called up before Friday's game, but the Tigers decided to recall Buck Farmer in order to bolster their tired bullpen. Hicks has been raking at all levels this season, as he hit .423/.444/.654 in an earlier seven-game stint for Detroit and is the owner of a .333/.338/.547 line over 20 games for Toledo. With Victor Martinez on paternity leave, Hicks will give the Tigers another solid power bat to replace him.
