Walker was optioned to Triple-A Rochester.
Walker hit .239 with 31 home runs last season at Double-A. He led the minor leagues in home runs with 31, but struck out in 34.8 percent of his plate appearances. He could be called up at some point this season if he can reduce his strikeouts.
