Garcia was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday with a sprained finger on his left hand.

The 26-year-old has been sidelined by the injury for a little more than a week now, and while he was able to pinch hit last Wednesday, it appears the injury is bothersome enough to warrant a trip to the DL. It's a tough break for Garcia, who is slashing .298/.345/.614 with six stolen bases and a career-best six homers in 56 games. The move is retroactive to June 16, so Garcia will be available to rejoin the White Sox on June 26 if he's fully recovered by then. In the meantime, Alen Hanson and Willy Garcia will continue to fill the void in center field. A corresponding roster move should be announced prior to Tuesday's series opener against the Twins.
