Putnam (elbow) is hoping to resume a throwing program after being re-evaluated Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Putnam has been on the disabled list since late April with elbow inflammation, though if all goes well with Wednesday's check up, a timetable for his return could start to materialize. More should be known about a possible return date once he resumes throwing.
