Romine (thumb) went 1-for-4 in his return to Grapefruit League play Monday.

Romine was sidelined for nearly a week after taking a pitch off his right thumb, but he avoided any serious damage and was able to return to action Monday without incident. Despite the strong play this spring by fellow catcher Kyle Higashioka, Romine has all but been assured he'll serve as the backup to Gary Sanchez behind the plate come Opening Day.
