Yankees ink Corey Patterson to minor deal

The Yankees signed outfielder Corey Patterson to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Friday.

Patterson batted just .175 for Triple-A Tacoma before the Mariners released him earlier this month.
