    • Carter went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 3-1 victory over the Pirates. Carter's first-inning blast was all the Brewers needed on a night when their starter, Junior Guerra, twirled a doozy over 8.2 innings. It was Carter's 23rd homer of the season and his first since July 8. The first baseman's .217 average leaves much to be desired, but he's now on pace to challenge the 40-homer mark, a feat that would also set a career high for the 29-year-old slugger playing in his seventh MLB season.

    • Carter went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo homers Friday against the Cardinals. Both of Carter's bombs came off of Michael Wacha, and the second one gave them a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning in a game the Brewers would go on to win. He now has three homers in seven July games to give him 22 on the season.

      By RotoWire Staff

Carter is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals. Carter has been surprisingly durable for the Brewers this season, starting 77 of 81 games at first base. He'll get a regular day off for Monday's early contest, however, giving way to Jonathan Lucroy at first base while Martin Maldonado mans the backstop.
