The Reds announced Monday that the team has signed five free agents to minor league contracts, MLB.com reports. Cincinnati signed free agents Justin Freeman, Ray Chang, Jose Diaz, Mike Costanzo and Kris Negron to minor league deals.
The Reds signed infielder Mike Costanzo to a minor-league deal Tuesday. Costanzo spent last season with the Reds and will report to Double-A Pensacola, according to MLB.com.
The Reds outrighted third baseman Mike Costanzo to Triple-A Louisville on Friday after he successfully cleared waivers. Costanzo was designated for assignment earlier this week in order to create a spot on the 40-man roster.
