    • Donald Veal: Released by Rangers on Monday
      By RotoWire Staff

Veal was released by the Rangers on Monday, Baseball America reports. Veal pitched well in the minors in the Braves organization last season, but was bad in the majors. He also didn't raise his stock during spring training with the Rangers, giving up two earned runs over only one inning pitched, leading the Rangers to release him. Although he doesn't have very good stats to his name thus far in his career, his left-handedness alone could land him a job with a club looking for organizational pitching depth.

He'll likely start the year as a reliever at the minor league level.

    • Donnie Veal suffers blown save in Braves win
      By Shawn Krest

Braves reliever Donnie Veal failed to protect a one-run lead in the seventh inning. Veal allowed an inherited runner to score, tying the game, then gave up two of his own, after allowing a single and home run, sandwiched around a sacrifice bunt. It was Veal's second career blown save. His previous blown save was in 2012, with the White Sox.
