    • Laffey signed a minor league deal with the Nationals on Friday. The contract includes an invitation to spring training. Laffey made only three big league appearances last season, spending the bulk of the year in Triple-A as a member of the Rockies organization, which DFA'd him back in August. The 30-year-old did not pitch in the majors in 2014, but in 2013 he appeared in five games between the Mets and the Blue Jays.

    • Rockies pitcher Aaron Laffey was designated for assignment on Saturday. The left-hander pitched three scoreless innings of relief in Friday's loss to the Cardinals. Laffey has made three relief appearances for the Rockies in 2015, posting a 3.68 ERA. This is the second time this year that Laffey has been DFA'd by the Rockies.

    • Following the recent trade of Troy Tulowitzki to Toronto, the Rockies have shuffled their roster a bit on Tuesday. They have recalled infielder Christian Adames , right-hander Justin Miller and left-hander Aaron Laffey from Triple-A. Adames has not appeared in the big leagues yet this season, but he owns a .296/.342/.416 slash line with 16 doubles and seven home runs in 86 games with Alburquerque. Miller made eight relief appearances for the Rockies earlier this season, posting a 1.29 ERA over seven innings of work. Laffey, an eight-year veteran, pitched 2 1/3 innings in a relief outing earlier this year. He is 2-3 with a 4.78 ERA in 58 1/3 innings with the Isotopes.

      The Rockies outrighted pitcher Aaron Laffey to Triple-A Albuquerque, per OwnersBox.com. Laffey was designated for assignment on July 11 and cleared waivers.

    • The Rockies recalled LHP Rex Brothers from Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, per MLB.com. Brothers is 4-1 with three saves and a 4.71 ERA in 32 games at Albuquerque. He was 4-6, 5.59 with the Rockies last season. To make room on the roster, the Rockies designated LHP Aaron Laffey for assignment. Laffey earned a win in his only appearance for the Rockies.
