The Pirates announced Friday they cut 12 players from major-league camp. They optioned Bobby LaFromboise to Triple-A, while reassigning Deolis Guerra, Gorkys Hernandez, Charlie Leesman, Brad Lincoln, Steve Lombardozzi, Brent Morel, Gustavo Nunez , Deibinson Romero, Jose Tabata, Sebastian Valle and Josh Wall to minor-league camp.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced Tuesday they have traded right-hander Brad Lincoln to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for catcher Erik Kratz and left-hander Rob Rasmussen on Tuesday.Lincoln went 1-2 with a 3.98 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 25:22 K:BB ratio in 31 2/3 innings in the majors last season with Toronto.Kratz played a career-high 68 games last season and batted .213/.280/.386 with nine home runs and 26 RBI. Rasmussen was acquired in the trade earlier in the month that sent Michael Young to Los Angeles. He went 3-11 with a 4.11 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 113:60 K:BB ratio in 135 2/3 innings between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Albuquerque.
