    • Dodgers trade Matt Carson to Athletics

      The Dodgers traded outfielder Matt Carson to the Athletics for cash on Friday, per SB Nation. Carson played for the A's in 2009 and 2010. He was hitting .179 with no home runs and nine RBI at the Dodgers' Triple-A club in Oklahoma City.

    • The Dodgers reassigned two outfielders to minor league camp on Sunday. Kyle Jensen, who joined the organization after playing in the Marlins' minor league system for the last few years, was one of the cuts. He hit .409 in 16 spring games for the Dodgers. The second cut was Matt Carson , who played in the Indians' organization last year. He hit .190 this spring, with two home runs.

    • Indians finalize opening day roster

      The Indians announced several roster moves Sunday as they finalize their opening day roster. The Indians purchased the contracts of reliever Scott Atchison, DH Jason Giambi and outfielder Nyjer Morgan. They also placed Michael Bourn (left hamstring strain) and Giambi (rib fracture) on the 15-day disabed list. Pitchers Frank Herrmann and Colt Hynes were designated for assignment. Outfielder Matt Carson and infielder Ryan Rohlinger were reassigned to minor-league camp.

    • Matt Carson waived by Indians

      Veteran outfielder Matt Carson has lost his bid for a roster spot with the Indians. He was released on Saturday. The 32-year-old career minor leaguer helped the team earn a playoff spot late last season by smacking seven hits in 11 at-bats, including a game-winning single against Houston.

      Indians outfielder Matt Carson return to action Monday, going 0 for 2 and striking out once in his team's 5-4 loss to the Reds. Carson was bothered by a hand injury over the weekend but needed just two days off before getting back on the field. He has hit .269/.367/.462 with one home run and four RBI in 26 at-bats.
