The Rangers optioned shortstop Hanser Alberto and re-assigned pitchers Alex Gonzalez and Ross Wolf to minor-league camp Tuesday. Alberto went 7 for 30 with two steals in 13 games this spring. Gonzalez, who was thought to be in the mix for a rotation spot, posted a 3.95 ERA and 15:6 K:BB ratio in 13 2/3 innings. Wolf allowed five earned runs in 8 2/3 innings.
The Rangers announced Thursday they signed pitcher Anthony Bass, outfielder Antoan Richardson and pitcher Ross Wolf to minor-league deals. All three players received non-roster invites to spring training.

With Triple-A Round Rock finishing their season Monday, the Rangers will recall three players from the roster on Tuesday in Oakland, the Dallas Morning News reports. The Rangers will recall reliever Ross Wolf and outfielders Engel Beltre and Joey Butler. Beltre batted .278 with two RBI over 17 games with the Rangers earlier in the year. The lefty hit .292 at Round Rock with seven homers and 34 RBI over 94 games. Butler played in two games with Texas in August and went 2 for 4 for the Rangers. He hit .291 with 12 homres and 51 RBI for Round Rock over 119 games. Wolf was sent down last week by Texas. He went 1-3 with a 4.14 over 21 games and three starts from May 22 through Aug. 30.
Rangers pitcher Ross Wolf has been optioned to the minors Friday. Wolf will be replaced by Joe Ortiz on the active roster. Wolf had a 4.14 ERA through 45 2/3 innings.
