The Red Sox announced several roster moves on Thursday, per the Boston Globe. The team optioned outfielders Rusney Castillo and Jackie Bradley Jr. to Triple-A, and reassigned Matt Spring, Humberto Quintero and Dana Eveland to minor-league camp.
Bradley and Castillo are expected to see work at right and center field in the minors, while Shane Victorino starts at right field in the majors.
"Both he and Jackie were difficult decisions. Both guys had great springs... Rusney did everything we asked of him," Farrell said, per the Boston Herald. "He's going to play both right and center in Pawtucket. The everyday at-bats are part of that, so is the depth and overall roster."
Castillo hit .310/.310/.621 with one double, one triple, two home runs and five RBI this spring. Bradley slashed .378.462/.444 with three doubles and one RBI in Grapefruit League play.
