    • David Huff: NRI to Royals camp
      By RotoWire Staff

Huff signed a minor league deal with the Royals on Wednesday, which includes an invite to spring training, Baseball America's Matt Eddy reports. The 31-year-old southpaw spent most of 2015 at the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate, where his 2.20 ERA was impressive, but his 19.5% K-rate left a lot to be desired. He will likely fill a similar role with the Royals in 2016.

    • The Dodgers were busy on Saturday as far as their bullpen was concerned. They cleared a couple of spots off their 40-man roster by sending David Huff to Triple-A Oklahoma City and when they lost Sergio Santos to free agency. The Dodgers designated Santos for assignment on May 27 and elected to become a free agent rather than accept his designation to Triple-A. Huff was designated for assignment earlier this week and will head to Oklahoma City. He made one start for the Dodgers this season, allowing four runs in four innings back in April.

    • The Dodgers sent catcher Austin Barnes down to its Triple-A affiliate, the team announced Tuesday. Barnes was 1 for 3 in four games this season. The team also designated pitcher David Huff for assignment Tuesday. Huff produced a 10.80 ERA in five innings this season.

    • Veteran left-hander David Huff, who has performed well since his demotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City, has been called up by the Dodgers. He will start Tuesday at Colorado, per MLB.com. Huff, who pitched just once in April for the Dodgers, is 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in six games, including two starts, for Oklahoma City. He has allowed just one run on four hits in his last 7 1/3 innings. The Dodgers demoted reliever Matt West to make room for Huff. West didn't even get a sip of coffee - he had been brought up Sunday.

    • The Dodgers could be in the market for a No. 5 starter, as South Korean hurler Hyun-Jin Ryu remains without a timetable for return in his recovery from a shoulder impingement, reports CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Ryu was limited to two spring starts and has not pitched since March 17 due to the issue. The Dodgers have used swing man David Huff for a spot start on April 14 and Mike Bolsinger on Thursday to fill in that role.
