      Perez was signed to a minor league contract with the Indians on Friday. The veteran lefty battled injuries while with the Blue Jays in 2014 and spent all of last season in Japan, where he notched a 8.02 ERA with 19 strikeouts and 15 walks over 21.1 innings. He'll likely be a spring training arm, and his odds of latching on with one of the Indians' upper-level minor league teams appear slim.

      Left-hander Luis Perez has been transferred by the Blue Jays to Double-A New Hampshire to make room on the Triple-A roster for Felix Duobront, per TSN 1050. Perez has yielded six runs in 13 innings pitched this season for Buffalo, but all of those runs were allowed in the same appearance.

    • The Braves have signed pitcher Luis Perez to a minor-league deal, MLBDailyDish.com reports. Perez auditioned for the Braves last week, and he should join the Braves' bullpen when ready, as the team currently is using two lefty relievers with no major-league experience behind lefty setup man Luis Avilan. MLBDailyDish.com reports he'll spend about a month in extended spring training before joining the major-league bullpen.

      The Braves had free-agent pitcher Luis Perez in for a tryout Monday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The lefty Perez missed most of 2013 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The Braves figure to have Luis Avilan as the only lefty locked into a bullpen role with Johnny Venters out, and Perez has a chance to make the team over a nonroster invitee if he signs with Atlanta.
