    Player Outlook

If you're the type of Fantasy owners who likes knowing you have the best of something, Buster Posey is the catcher for you. Since breaking into the league in 2009, he has stood out at the position -- and never more so than last year, when the gap between him and the second` catcher was bigger than the gap between the top two players at any other position, at least in terms of Head-to-Head points. You pretty much know what you're going to get from him ever year: a .300 batting average, 20 home runs or so and the kind of peripherals that help widen the gap in points leagues especially. Of course, there's always a chance another Jonathan Lucroy type rises up with comparable numbers, as happened in 2014, but given the overall dearth of talent at catcher, Posey is worth selecting as early as Round 2.

    • Giants C Buster Posey returns to lineup Wednesday
      By RotoWire Staff

Giabts catcher Buster Posey (hip) is back in the lineup Wednesday against the Padres, manning first base and batting cleanup. The Giants will give Posey another day off from catching duties as he continues to nurse some hip/lower-back tightness, but they will get his bat back in the lineup in time to face Andrew Cashner. Posey owns an even .500 career average against Cashner, having recorded 11 hits (including two homers) in 22 at-bats against the right-hander.

    • Buster Posey was a late scratch the Giants' lineup on Tuesday, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports. He was apparently on the field testing something, and obviously did not get the results he was looking for. His status will be updated when the team offers an explanation for the late removal of Posey from the lineup. Ehire Adrianza will get the rare start at first base Tuesday.

    • Giants catcher Buster Posey had a big day at the dish Tuesday, going 2 for 4 with a a home run and four RBI in the extra-innings loss to Cincinnati. Posey's power production has slowed in the second half with just four homers since the All-Star break. Despite the dip in power, he has actually been a better hitter, slashing .352/.410/.474 in 196 at-bats post-break. Posey has easily been the most valuable Fantasy catcher this season, and he will look to finish strong despite his team stumbling to the finish line.
