    • The Rays reassigned pitchers Everett Teaford and Brandon Gomes to minor-league camp along with six other players, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Teaford and Gomes were in the mix for spots on the 25-man roster before being reassigned. The team also cut catcher Mayo Acosta, outfielders Corey Brown and Joey Butler and pitchers Jhan Marinez, Jim Miller and Jordan Norberto.

    • Former Athletics pitcher Jordan Norberto has signed a minor-league deal with the Rays, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Norberto logged a career-high 52 innings and posted a 2.77 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP with the A's last season.

    • Rays consider signing Jordan Norberto

      The Rays are considering signing pitcher Jordan Norberto , the Tampa Bay Times reports. Norberto is recovering from Tommy John surgery and was suspended in relation to the Biogenesis investigation. Norberto last pitched in 2012 for the A's, going 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB ratio in 52 innings.

      Free-agent pitcher Jordan Norberto has been suspended 50 games. Norberto is currently a free-agent, but was in camp with the Athletics earlier this season. He will not be able to serve his suspension until he's picked up by a club. Norberto is attempting to come back after Tommy John surgery.

    • Report: Biogensis discipline handed down

      FOX Sports reports among the players accepting 50-game suspensions for their connection to the Biogenesis investigation are Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz, Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta, Phillies reliever Antonio Bastardo, Mets infielder Jordany Valdespin , Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera, Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli, Mariners catcher Jesus Montero, Mets outfielder Cesar Puello, Astros reliever Sergio Escalona, Padres reliever Fautino De Los Santos, Yankees outfielder Fernando Martinez and free-agent pitcher Jordan Norberto. The report also states Athletics starting pitcher Bartolo Colon, Padres catcher Yasmani Grandal and Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera will be dealt no additional discipline. Also, no violations were found against Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez and Orioles infielder Danny Valencia.
