Pitcher Loek Van Mil has signed a deal with the Rakuten Eagles of the Pacific League to play in Japan in 2014, Sponichi reports. Van Mil spent most of last season with Double-A Pensacola, where he went 0-9 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 32:28 K:BB ratio in 61 1/3 innings. He also made three appearances with Triple-A Louisville, giving up two earned runs in 2 2/3 innings.
The Indians acquired reliever Loek Van Mil from the Angels on Saturday in exchange for cash considerations. Van Mil was 1-0 with a 6.30 ERA in eight appearances for Triple-A Salt Lake this season. He was assigned to Double-A Akron.
