    • Reds' Tim Melville: Outrighted to Triple-A
      By RotoWire Staff

Melville has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Louisville. Melville had been a back-end rotation option, but never made it past the fourth inning and surrendered 11 earned runs on 16 hits in his first nine innings of the year. He ultimately fell victim to a pitching staff shuffle in Cincinnati, and to get another shot in the big leagues, will have to significantly improve his command and start missing more bats.

    • Reds' Tim Melville: Designated for assignment Friday
      By RotoWire Staff

Melville was designated for assignment Friday. Melville has been awful for Cincinnati since the beginning of the season, posting an 11.00 ERA and 2.78 WHIP through nine innings. After struggling in his first couple starts, it appeared that Dan Straily took his spot in the rotation, bumping Melville to the bullpen. Melville will now focus on getting his game back on track in Triple-A Toledo.

    • Reds' Tim Melville: Seemingly moved to bullpen
      By RotoWire Staff

Melville has seemingly been replaced in the Reds' rotation, as Dan Straily has been tabbed to start Monday's series opener against the Rockies, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Melville has managed just four and three innings in his pair of starts this season, which have resulted in seven earned runs on 11 hits and seven walks to go with seven strikeouts. Considering the elevated WHIP (2.571), he likely has his work cut out for him in his quest to earn another nod.

    • Reds' Tim Melville: Allows six earned runs
      By RotoWire Staff

Melville (0-1) allowed seven runs, six of which were earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out two over three innings, taking the loss Friday at the Cardinals. Melville gave up a pair of three-run bombs to Matt Holliday and Aledmys Diaz which led to his early exit. After two starts, he now has allowed 18 baserunners over seven innings of work. Once the Reds start getting pitchers back from the disabled list, he'll likely be removed from the rotation. But for now, his next start has yet to be determined.

    • Reds' Tim Melville: Starting again Friday
      By RotoWire Staff

Melville will get a second start Friday against the Cardinals. Melville managed to avoid major damage Sunday against the Padres, but this start presents a difficult challenge. Anthony DeSclafani has started to make good progress, so Melville might not start again after Friday.
