    • White Sox's Slade Heathcott: Signs with White Sox
      By RotoWire Staff

Heathcott signed a minor league deal with the White Sox on Tuesday. Heathcott will join Triple-A Charlotte and will be placed on the DL with an unknown ailment. The 25-year-old struggled in the early portion of the season, slashing .218/.260/.287 with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before being released by the Yankees organization. The former first round pick figures to provide organizational depth in the outfield for the White Sox.

    • Slade Heathcott: Released by Yankees
      By RotoWire Staff

Heathcott was released by the Yankees on Thursday. A spot on the 40-man roster was needed for lefty Richard Bleier, and Heathcott was the casualty. The 29th overall pick in 2009, he fared well in a small sample with the Yankees last year (10-for-25 with two doubles and two homers), but limped out of the gates with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season before an injury forced him to the sidelines. Heathcott figures to have several teams interested in bringing him in on a minors deal.

      By RotoWire Staff

Heathcott (undisclosed) was placed on the seven-day disabled list by Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Chad Jennings of LoHud.com reports. Heathcott seemed to be in line for a potential promotion to the MLB, but was sent to the disabled list instead. He's hitting for a .230/.271/.310 slash line in 23 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Jake Cave will take his spot in Triple-A.

    • Heathcott was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday. Heathcott was also reassigned to minor league camp, which doesn't come as much of a surprise as the big league club appears to have all starting outfield spots plus a fourth option filled in Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, Carlos Beltran, and Aaron Hicks. The 25-year-old could make his way up in the event of injury, but he'll likely spend the majority of the season at the Triple-A level.

    • Yankees rookie Slade Heathcott came into Monday's game against the Rays with one home run in his young six-game career. On Monday, he played hero, as he hit a three-run, go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth inning, leading the Yanks to the 4-1 win. Heathcott came off the bench to hit his second big fly of the season, which was by far his most significant hit of the year. The three RBI on Monday matched his season total entering the game.
