Lee, who was traded to the Mariners on Sunday, will join the starting rotation at Triple-A Tacoma but could be called up if injuries continue to hit the Seattle pitching staff, the Seattle Times reports. With Felix Hernandez and Wade Miley on the disabled list, the Mariners' pitching depth has taken a hit. What's more, Taijuan Walker is battling a foot injury. If Walker needs to go on the DL or if Adrian Sampson, who made major league debut Saturday, struggles, Lee likely will be called up.
Lee was traded to the Mariners on Sunday. Lee was traded for infielder Chris Taylor. The right-hander has a 4.89 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 13 starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Lee has a 4.58 ERA in 10 starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City, but appears no closer to returning to the big leagues any time soon The Dodgers opted for Julio Urias to replace the injured Alex Wood (arm). At this point, Lee may need a trade to another organization to get a chance to carve out a big league role.
Lee tossed six innings of one-run ball Thursday for Triple-A Oklahoma City, but still sports a 4.73 ERA. Lee has a solid 23:3 K:BB in 26.2 innings, but considering hitters are batting .333 against him, perhaps he's been in the strike zone too much. Lee should still be in line for starts in Los Angeles at some point this season.
Lee was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. The team needed to clear a spot on the roster for the returning Carl Crawford (back), and Lee was the casualty. Lee was recalled Saturday to provide some bullpen depth but did not end up making an appearance during his stint with the big club. It seems likely Lee will return to a starting role with Oklahoma City.
