Orioles minor-league third baseman Brandon Waring is looking to sign elsewhere as a minor-league free-agent, according to MASN. Waring has been a source of power in the minors, hitting 119 home runs over the past five seasons. The 27-year-old said it's time for a change of scenery. "I've spent five seasons in the Orioles system and the opportunity never really presented itself to move forward," Waring said. "Our first choice is to look elsewhere and get a fresh start." Waring added that he and his agent have identified a few clubs where he could potentially make it to the big leagues if he continues to produce. Waring hit .214/.317/.449 in 383 at-bats between two levels of the minors last season.
