    • Phillies' Pat Venditte: Headed to minors
      By RotoWire Staff

Venditte was informed that he did not earn a roster spot with the Phillies, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Venditte will remain in camp until Friday to give the Phillies some innings as they close out their Grapefruit League schedule. He will open the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley and could see time in the majors later this season.

    • Phillies' Pat Venditte: Arrives in camp
      By RotoWire Staff

Venditte arrived in Phillies camp on Thursday afternoon, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Venditte was acquired Sunday in a trade with the Mariners. He had been pitching for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic. The ambidextrous pitcher is competing for a bullpen spot, but is likely ticketed to open the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

    • Phillies' Pat Venditte: Shipped to Phillies
      By RotoWire Staff

Venditte was traded to the Phillies on Sunday in exchange for outfielder Joey Curletta. The 31-year-old spent time with the Blue Jays and Mariners last season but found relatively little success with either organization at the major league level. However, the Phillies lack bullpen depth, and given his niche as a switch-pitcher, Venditte could push for a spot with the big league bullpen if he can piece together a few good spring appearances.

    • Venditte cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday. Venditte never quite found his groove after being acquired by the Mariners from Toronto in 2016. Over seven games (13.1 innings) with the Seattle he allowed 10 runs, nine of which were earned, off 13 hits and seven walks. Although circumstances may change by the time the 2017 campaign comes around, Venditte will likely start the upcoming season with Tacoma, where he'll look to hone his subpar accuracy.

    • Mariners' Pat Venditte: Designated for assignment
      By RotoWire Staff

Venditte was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Wednesday. The switch-pitcher was the odd man out following the team's trade that added three players Wednesday evening. Venditte has plenty of team control remaining, but serves generally as a middle reliever and is unlikely to find a high-leverage situation elsewhere. Still, it's possible another team will take a shot at him in the waivers. If not, it's possible he will be attend Mariners spring training as a non-roster invitee.
