The Indians announced Monday they optioned pitcher C.C. Lee to Triple-A Columbus. They also reassigned seven players to minor-league camp, including top prospect Francisco Lindor. Also sent to minor-league camp were infielder Audy Ciriaco, outfielder Destin Hood, pitcher Dustin Molleken, catcher Adam Moore, pitcher Bryan Price and pitcher Michael Roth.
The Indians will designate right-hander Bryan Price for assignment to make room on their 40-man roster for Brandon Moss. Price pitched three games for Cleveland late last season and yielded six earned runs on eight hits in just 2 2/3 innings.
Indians manager Terry Francona told reporters that the team will recall Jesus Aguilar, Bryan Price and Austin Adams. The team will also activate Jason Giambi from the disabled list and will reinstate Chris Gimenez from the paternity list.
Reds manager Bryan Price said Ryan Ludwick, Chris Heisey and Skip Shumaker will share the left-field spot going forward, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. Ludwick hasn't been productive enough to retain the starting job.
Indians right-hander Bryan Price got mashed on Thursday and demoted on Friday. He gave up three hits and two earned runs in 1 1/3 innings against Kansas City. That turned out to be a precursor to a trip to Triple-A Columbus.
