  • Twins' Lane Adams: Added to 60-man player pool

Adams was included in Minnesota's 60-man player pool ahead of summer camp before the 2020 season begins, MLB.com reports. The 30-year-old failed to reach the majors in 2019 after making brief appearances in the prior two seasons, but he hit .255/.340/.465 with 12 home runs and eight stolen bases over 72 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Adams is likely to spend most of his time with with Minnesota's alternate training site, but his past experience in the majors could make him a candidate to get called up at some point this season if injuries pile up.

  • Twins' Lane Adams: Inks minor-league deal with Twins

Adams signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Monday. The 30-year-old failed to reach the majors in 2019 after making brief appearances in the prior two seasons, but he hit .255/.340/.465 with 12 home runs and eight stolen bases over 72 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Adams won't report to major-league camp during spring training, but his past experience in the majors could make him a candidate to get called up at some point this season if injuries pile up.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Latches on with Braves

Adams signed a minor-league contract with the Braves on Wednesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Adams has spent most of the season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, slashing .255/.340/.465 with 12 home runs and eight stolen bases in 72 games for the Iron Pigs. If he hits the ground running with Triple-A Gwinnett, there's a chance the utility man could join the Braves in September as a bench player and pinch runner.

  • Phillies' Lane Adams: Heading to minor-league camp

Adams has been informed that he won't break camp with the Phillies, and he'll head to minor-league camp Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. The Phillies couldn't find room for Adams, so he'll head to the minors and wait for his next opportunity. He has a respectable .263/.333/.467 career line in 154 major-league plate appearances, so he could help a team in a bench role if given the opportunity.

  • Phillies' Lane Adams: Inks minors deal with Phillies

Adams signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Adams spent the previous two seasons with the Braves, slashing .269/.340/.478 with seven homers and 11 stolen bases across 111 games. Given Philadelphia's current outfield depth, the 29-year-old will likely serve as organizational depth for his new team.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Outrighted to minors

Adams was outrighted from the Braves' 40-man roster Wednesday. Adams spent the final month of the regular season with the big-league team, going 2-for-8 with a home run and two RBI as a reserve outfielder after being with Triple-A Gwinnett for a majority of the year. Alongside Adams, fellow outfielder Preston Tucker was also outrighted to the minors.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Contract selected by Braves

Adams' contract was selected by the Braves on Saturday. Adams won an Opening Day roster spot with the Braves this season, only to be designated for assignment and electing free agency in late April. He spent some time in the Cubs' organization before returning to the Braves on a minor-league deal in mid-July. He'll wind up back where he started, though he's unlikely to be anything other than a bat off the bench down the stretch.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Signs minor-league deal with Braves

Adams signed a minor-league contract with the Braves on Monday. Adams had opened the year with Atlanta before becoming a free agent in late April after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett. After a brief period with the Cubs' Triple-A team, he'll end up with Gwinnett after all. The 28-year-old has a .264/.338/.450 line in 146 career major-league plate appearances.

  • Cubs' Lane Adams: Joins Cubs on minors deal

Adams signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Friday, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Adams was designated for assignment by the Braves in late April and declined his outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett after clearing waivers. The Cubs' offense hasn't scored more than three runs in their last 10 games, but there is currently no clear path to significant at-bats for the 28-year-old as he heads to the minors.

  • Lane Adams: Becomes free agent Friday

Adams elected free agency after declining his outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Adams was designated for assignment just over a week ago and went through waivers unclaimed. He'll now test the open market, though his .235 batting average in the big leagues hardly gives him a good case to receive anything bigger than a minor-league deal.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Sent outright to Triple-A

Adams cleared waivers Wednesday and was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett. Adams was cast off the 40-man roster last week to clear a spot on the roster for Matt Wisler, but he ultimately didn't garner any interest on the waiver wire. The outfielder now seems to be destined for an organizational depth role in the Braves' organization.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Designated for assignment Thursday

Adams was designated for assignment by the Braves on Thursday. The Braves needed to clear a roster spot in order to recall Thursday's starter, Matt Wisler, from the minors, and Adams was the corresponding roster casualty. The 28-year-old, who was 4-for-17 (.235) with a homer before being cut loose, was ultimately deemed expendable with Johan Camargo returning from the disabled list earlier in the week. He'll take a spin through waivers to determine where he'll report.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Piles on with homer during blowout

Adams delivered a pinch-hit, two-run homer Saturday in the Braves' 15-2 victory over the Phillies. Any fantasy excitement should be quelled by the fact the blast was lifted off an eighth-inning pitch by position player Pedro Florimon, who was called on to mop up Philadelphia's rough day. Adams will see fleeting playing time that should dwindle further once Ronald Acuna surfaces with the big-league club in the coming weeks.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Wins Opening Day roster spot

Adams secured a spot on the Braves' Opening Day roster, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. With uber-prospect Ronald Acuna likely to remain at Triple-A Gwinnett until April 13 to afford the Braves an extra year of control, at-bats in left field should be up for grabs among Adams, Preston Tucker and Peter Bourjos. Tucker will get the first look in the starting role, as he's slated to man left field and bat sixth in the season opener Thursday against the Phillies.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Candidate to open season as starter

Adams is considered one of the leading candidates to act as the Braves' Opening Day left fielder with the expectation that Ronald Acuna will be optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett when spring training concludes, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. In addition to Adams, December pickup Preston Tucker is a contender for regular action in left field to begin the season, but neither player looks on track to see consistent at-bats throughout the campaign. After slashing .344/.393/.548 in 54 games with Gwinnett a season ago, Acuna has nothing left to prove in the minors, so his probable assignment back to the Triple-A club would be strictly for service-time purposes and would allow the Braves to gain an extra year of club control for the phenom. In that scenario, Acuna would likely be recalled later in April, at which point Adams would settle back in as the Braves' fourth outfielder. Adams' poor playing-time outlook probably only makes him worth interest in NL-only settings as a late dart in drafts.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Not starting Saturday

Adams is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies. Adams started the last four games in the Braves' outfield, but he will be held out Saturday after going just 1-for-13 over that span. Jace Peterson will get the start in left field in Adams' place.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Hits second home run

Adams mashed a pinch-hit solo homer in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Cubs. Adams took starter Kyle Hendricks deep in the seventh inning. He continues to serve mostly in a bench role despite slashing .288/.351/.462 at the plate.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Struggling since latest call-up

Adams slashed .154/.214/.385 with one home run over 13 at-bats in June. This is Adams' third and longest stint with the Braves this season, but it has also been his worst at the plate. The reserve outfielder holds a .227/.261/.364 slash line in 22 at-bats with three stolen bases for the season. Adams is seeing limited opportunities in his current role with 18 of his at-bats this season coming as a pinch hitter.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett

Adams was optioned Monday to Triple-A Gwinnett, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports. It was a brief stint in the bigs for Adams, but he made the most of it. The 27-year-old went 3-for-9 with two stolen bases, an RBI and a run. In 51 at-bats with Gwinnett this season, he's hitting .333 with four home runs, 16 RBI and four stolen bases, and his OPS sits at an impressive .940.

  • Braves' Lane Adams: Called up to big leagues

Adams had his contract purchased from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports. The speedy outfielder pushed the envelope in the minors by batting .333 in his first 13 games, so the Braves decided to give him a chance for a cup of coffee with the big-league club. He'll replace the recently-DFA'd Chase d'Arnaud on the Braves roster, although Adams seems to be destined for a bench role moving forward unless injuries strike. That being said, he could be a cheap source of steals in deeper leagues if the Braves opt to use him liberally in pinch-running situations.
