  • Tigers' Kade Scivicque: Re-signs with Detroit

Scivicque re-signed Tuesday with the Tigers on a minor-league contract, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. The 26-year-old backstop split the 2019 season between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo, slashing .295/.338/.488 between the two levels. He'll provide some organizational depth behind the plate in the high minors again in 2020, but his lack of a 40-man roster spot is a barrier to him earning a callup to the big leagues.

  • Braves' Kade Scivicque: Receives invitation to spring training

Scivicque will attend spring training as a non-roster invitee. Scivicque finished off 2017 at Triple-A Gwinnett slashing .272/.344/.370 in 90 plate appearances. He continues to show a lack of power, as he hit just three home runs at Double-A Mississippi, and two at the Triple-A level last season. The 24-year-old catcher will have to rely on his arm strength and agility behind the plate if he hopes to one day make it onto a big-league roster.

  • Tigers' Kade Scivicque: Dealt from Detroit to Atlanta

Scivicque was traded to the Braves on Tuesday along with Mike Aviles in exchange for Erick Aybar. A fourth-round pick in 2015, Scivicque has hit .282/.325/.380 with six homers and 41 RBI in 105 games at the Low-A level this season. Already 23 years old and lacking a plus offensive tool, Scivicque doesn't profile as much of a fantasy prospect, but he has the arm strength and enough agility to stick behind the plate as he moves up the minor league ladder.
