The Indians activated pitcher Boof Bonser from the disabled list Friday and then granted him his release from Triple-A Columbus. Bonser went 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in three games for Columbus.
The Indians announced Sunday that they've signed reliever Boof Bonser to a minor-league contract, MLB.com reports. Bonser has appeared in 111 career major-league games, the last coming in 2010 with Oakland. He has a career 5.18 ERA.
The Giants released minor-league starting pitcher Boof Bonser Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Bonser, who last played in the majors in 2010, went 2-6 with a 5.87 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 46:40 K:BB ratio in 79 2/3 innings for Triple-A Fresno.
The San Francisco Giants completed another round of roster cuts Friday, optioning pitchers Dan Otero, Jake Dunning, Chris Heston and Sandy Rosario, shortstops Ehire Adrianza and Nick Noonan and outfielders Roger Kieschnick and Juan Perez to Triple-A Fresno. Pitcher Edwin Escobar was sent to Class A San Jose. The team also reassigned Brett Bochy, Boof Bonser, Steve Edlefsen, Heath Hembree, Michael Kickham, Mitch Lively, Shane Loux, Ricky Oropesa, Adam Duvall, Brock Bond and Gary Brown to its minor-league camp.
