The Rays promoted Grady Sizemore from Triple-A on Saturday, reports the Tampa Bay Times. Sizemore had been demoted to Triple-A last month after hitting .242 with two home runs and 13 RBI in 149 at-bats. He will play in left field during Saturday's game at Boston.
Rays designated hitter Grady Sizemore has been optioned to Triple-A Durham, according to The Tampa Tribune. Sizemore, who it hitting .231 with two home runs and 13 RBI, will go to Durham to try and get more at-bats and a bigger workload.
Rays right fielder Grady Sizemore hit a solo home run in Friday's loss to Toronto. Sizemore went went 1 for 4 and went deep for the second time this year. It was his first homer since June 29. The home run snapped a 19 at-bat hitless streak spanning seven games.
John Jaso will return to the Rays' lineup in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Jaso has been out since Opening Day with a wrist contusion. He completed a minor league rehab assignment on Monday and was activated from the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday. Jaso is playing designated hitter and batting leadoff. His return moves Grady Sizemore to left field. Sizemore has started six games at DH since joining the team.
