      By Shawn Krest

The Phillies outrighted pitcher Kevin Correia to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, after he cleared waivers. Correia was designated for assignment earlier in the month, so the team could take him off the 40-man roster. He was 0-3 with a 6.56 ERA in five starts with the Phillies.

    • Phillies right-hander Kevin Correia got lit up like the Fourth of July in his start against the Braves, as he got blasted for nine runs on 10 hits over 3 1/3 innings on Saturday. Correia gave up four runs in the very first inning. Then he allowed a solo home run to Cameron Maybin in the second, before giving up four more runs in the fourth. Correia's ERA rose from 3.60 to 6.56 after Saturday's horrid outing. He has not been able to make it past six innings in any of his start so far this year. "That's the most frustrating part," Correia said, per MLB.com. "I can deal with getting hit around. I can deal with pretty much anything. But I want to be out there as long as possible, and that's just not happening right now."
