The Nationals have signed catcher Omir Santos to a minor league deal. The 33-year-old Santos hasn't played in a major league game since earning one at-bat with Cleveland in 2013. He played extensively for the Mets in 2009, but has just 31 at-bats since.
The Pirates made several roster moves Tuesday, including optioning Jaff Decker and Jared Hughes to Triple-A Indianapolis. The Pirates also reassigned Robert Andino, Chris Dickerson, Jay Jackson, Michael Martinez , Omir Santos, Daniel Schlereth, Zack Thornton and Adam Wilk to minor-league camp.

The Cleveland Indians outrighted catcher Omir Santos to Triple-A Columbus Sunday to clear room on the 40-man roster, MLB.com reports. Santos played in one game for Cleveland this season back on April 9. He went 0 for 1. Santos is batting .276 for Columbus this season over 163 at-bats.
The Indians purchased the contract of catcher Omir Santos from Triple-A Columbus Tuesday. Santos will serve as Yan Gomes' backup Tuesday after Lou Marson (neck) was placed on the disabled list and Carlos Santana being day-to-day with a thumb injury.
