    • Matt Capps: Set for showcase this Sunday
      By RotoWire Staff

Capps is holding a showcase for scouts this weekend in hopes of returning to the big leagues, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Capps spent last season with Triple-A Reno, where he posted a 5.15 ERA over 39 appearances and compiled a 47:21 K:BB. A return to the majors is still a long shot for the 33-year-old, but he's clearly committed to continuing his career.

    • Capps agreed to a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks, Baseball America reports. Capps hasn't pitched since 2014 and hasn't appeared in the majors since 2012, but he did pitch decently in the majors in the past. He had solid control and had alright velocity on his fastball, but he gave up far too many home runs each year. He'll try to garner a spot in the Arizona bullpen, although there's a good chance that he'll have to head back to the minors after spring training concludes.
