Tulowitzki (quadriceps) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday,Toronto play-by-play announcer Mike Wilner reports. This is difficult news for the Blue Jays as they had just activated second baseman Devon Travis from the disabled list, which put their infield at full strength. Tulowitzki started having trouble with his quadriceps on Tuesday and sat out two games before aggravating the injury in Friday's contest. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Saturday, which figures to provide a clearer picture of when Tulowitzki may be able to return. Darwin Barney will take over at shortstop Saturday and he'll likely continue to do so while Tulowitzki is on the shelf.
Tulowitzki, who is not in Saturday's lineup, aggravated his quad injury during Friday night's game, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports. Tulowitzki returned to action Friday night after missing two games, but he went 0-for-4 and tweaked the quad injury that had ailed him earlier in the week. Manager John Gibbons didn't have much to say about the matter, but he noted that Tulowitzki is set for an MRI, so more information should be available later in the day. Consider the shortstop day-to-day until further notice.
Tulowitzki is not in the lineup Saturday against the Red Sox, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports. Tulowitzki was held out of the lineup Wednesday and Thursday with a minor quad injury, but he returned to action Friday and went 0-for-4 at the plate. The Blue Jays are yet to comment on Tulowitzki's absence from Saturday's lineup, but it's possible he's still dealing with some discomfort in the quad. Darwin Barney will get the start at shortstop, and he'll hit eighth against Boston's Rick Porcello.
Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is back in the lineup hitting fifth Friday against the Red Sox, the Toronto Star's Brendan Kennedy reports. This works out nicely, as his owners were likely a little worried, given Tulowitzki's injury history. He can be deployed as usual in all formats Friday against Joe Kelly in Toronto.
Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is out of Thursday's lineup against the Yankees, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports. This will be the second game that he will miss with the quad issue, and Darwin Barney will get the start at shortstop. Last year he only missed two games with a quad issue, so hopefully he can return sometime this weekend.
