    • Rangers cut some top prospects

News: The Rangers optioned OF Brandon Boggs, LHPs Matt Harrison and A.J. Murray and RHP Warner Madrigal to minor league camp. Also, they reassigned 1B Nate Gold and C Taylor Teagarden to minor league camp.
Analysis: Harrison was a key piece in the Mark Teixeira trade and should get a look in their rotation before the year is out. Teagarden has great run production potential for a Fantasy catcher. Consider them in keeper leagues. Gold has pop in his bat, but he and these others are nothing more than organizational depth and can be ignored in all Fantasy leagues at this point.
    • Gold pops homer off Hoffman

News: Nate Gold hit a solo home run off Padres closer Trevor Hoffman in the eighth Monday.
Analysis: Hoffman is old for a closer, but he remains in a great place to be a productive Fantasy option still. Gold has pop, but he is nothing more than organizational depth at this point and can be ignored on Draft Day.
    • Rangers hand out spring invites

News: The Rangers signed OF Jason Ellison, RHP Elizardo Ramirez and RHP Franklyn German to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training. Also, the invited farm hands SS Elvis Andrus, 1B Chris Davis, 2B German Duran, 1B Nate Gold, RHP Eric Hurley, RHP Paul Kometani, OF John Mayberry, C Chris Stewart and C Taylor Teagarden to spring training.
Analysis: Hurley, Teagarden, Duran, Davis, Andrus and Mayberry are elite prospects worth considering in long-term keeper leagues. Most of the other players are organizational depth at this point in their careers and can be ignored on Draft Day.
    • Gold homers after demotion

News: Nate Gold, assigned to the Rangers' minor-league camp Sunday, homered for the Rangers.
Analysis: Gold won't be making an impact even in the deepest of AL-only leagues this season, so ignore him throughout Fantasy.
    • Rangers give out spring invites

News: The Rangers have invited these non-roster players to camp: C Salomon Manriquez, C Kevin Richardson, 1B Nate Gold, RP Jose Vargas, RP Scott Rice and SP Eric Hurley.
Analysis: None of these players are worth considering even in the deepest of AL-only leagues at this point.
