Rockies' Mark Reynolds: One-year deal with Rockies

Reynolds agreed to a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Rockies on Thursday, MLB.com reports. The 32-year-old failed to reach 20 homers last season for the first time since 2007, managing only 13 in 432 plate appearances with St. Louis. He was overexposed to right-handed pitching after Matt Adams went down with a quad injury, but the Rockies will look to keep him in a strict platoon role at first base alongside Ben Paulsen. His power in that park will make Reynolds an NL-only and daily target.
