    Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos will put his 15-game hitting streak on hold Wednesday, as he is being held out of the lineup in the series-finale against the Diamondbacks. Ramos seven of the last eight games for Washington, including each of the last three contests. So, with a day game following a night game, manager Matt Williams has decided to give Ramos a rest. Jose Lobaton will grab the start behind the plate and bat seventh on Wednesday. Ramos should be back in there on Thursday when the Nationals open a four-game series in San Diego.

    Nationals catcher Jose Lobaton delivered a two-run homer Saturday in the Nationals' win over the Braves.The homer was Lobaton's second in his first 20 at-bats of the season. "He understands the role," manager Matt Williams said after Saturday's win, per the Washington Post. "He understands that there may be a week where he only plays once. And then there may be a situation like today where we've got a good matchup that he plays in a game where Wilson (Ramos) would ordinarily play in. He provides good defense for us, good game-calling. Knowing our guys, which is good. Unfortunately, last year Wilson was out quite a bit and [Lobaton] got a chance to know these guys. It's not like he's stepping into a situation he hasn't been in." Both of his home runs this season have come against Teheran, against whom he is 7-for-13 lifetime.
