      The Rockies designated outfielder Drew Stubbs for assignment on Wednesday. Stubbs struggled in 2015, his second season in Colorado. This year, he hit just .216 with five home runs in 51 at-bats. He spent 38 games with Triple-A earlier in the season to try and get him going.       The Rockies have recalled outfielder Drew Stubbs from Triple-A on Thursday, and he will be available off the bench for the game against the Diamondbacks. After struggling for the first 24 games of the season with a .118 batting average and 30 strikeouts, Stubbs was sent down to Alburquerque on May 20. In 38 games at Triple-A, Stubbs was hitting .263 with four doubles, three triples and two home runs. "I think being sent down was good for me," Stubbs said, per The Denver Post. "I got back to being myself again. Stuff had compounded on me to where I wasn't playing effective baseball. I felt like that wiped the slate clean. I'm ready to go again." To clear room on the roster, infielder/outfielder Rafael Ynoa was optioned to Triple-A.

      The Rockies have optioned outfielder Drew Stubbs to Triple-A Albuquerque, the team announced on Wednesday. Stubbs has struggled this season to the tune of a .118 batting average (6 for 51). The Rockies are hoping he can find his swing in Triple-A and return to the player that hit .289 with 15 home runs a year ago. In a corresponding move, the team called up fellow outfielder Brandon Barnes from Triple-A. Barnes wasn't fairing much better in Albuquerque, as he owns a .205 average and 34 strikeouts in 132 at-bats. "My numbers weren't what I wanted them to be," Barnes said, per the Denver Post. "But I feel good, I'm in a good place. I always feel good." Barnes is on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
