      Report: Rangers sign pitcher Mark Rogers to minor-league deal

      The Rangers have reportedly signed pitcher Mark Rogers to a minor-league contract, reports Jerry Crasnick of Rogers spent 2014 as a member of the Mariners, making two appearances in Triple-A Tacoma, posting a 1-0 record with a 3.86 ERA and striking out five. Rogers is a former first-round pick of the Brewers in 2004.

The right-hander was examined by a doctor Wednesday.       Brewers pitcher Mark Rogers is struggling with his command and velocity during his rehab assignment at Double-A Huntsville, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. Rogers has walked six batters in 3 2/3 innings and hasn't been able to throw his fastball 93 mph consistently despite normally working in the mid-90s. "He's not where he needs to be yet but he's better," Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash told the Journal Sentinel. "It's ticking up but not where it used to be regularly." Rogers has posted a 3.92 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 39 innings over seven starts.
