Giants' Tim Lincecum begins early stages of rehab process

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum will report to the Giants' facility in Arizona on Wednesday to begin rehabbing his surgically-repaired hip, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game reports. He's expected to require five-to-six months of recovery time. Despite his standing as a two-time Cy Young winner, Lincecum is expected to see limited interest in free agency this winter on the heels of a four-year slide in his production. The 31-year-old could still have a second life as a reliever in the big leagues, but with the hip procedure putting his status in question for spring training, he remains a risky investment for any team.
