    • Brewers trade Aguilar for Lofgren

News: The Brewers have traded minor-league RP Omar Aguilar to the Indians in exchange for Rp Chuck Lofgren, a Rule 5 pick selected from the Indians in December. Lofgren will be assigned to Triple-A Nashville.
Analysis: Aguilar had a 4.72 ERA in 41 minor league games last season between Class A and Double-A. He also has 40 saves in the minors. Aguilar could have closer potential down the road but isn't worth worrying about in Fantasy play for now. Lofgren is a former prospect who also isn't likely to have any Fantasy value this season.
    • Lofgren posts another goose egg

News: Brewers SP Chuck Lofgren gave up one hit in an inning of work during Friday's game against the Cubs. He whiffed one batter. Lofgren has yet to allow a run in three innings this spring.
Analysis: While Lofgren has yet to appear in a major league game, he's among several vying for the final spot in the Brewers' starting rotation this spring. In three spring appearances, he's allowed no runs on one hit in three innings. While he could end up in the rotation, he should be considered a Fantasy option in NL-leagues only.
    • Lofgren tosses perfect inning

News: Brewers SP Chuck Lofgren pitched a perfect inning Saturday as he opened his spring campaign in a loss to the Rockies.
Analysis: Lofgren, a Rule-5 pick back in December, is a sleeper who could certainly sneak into the back end of the Brewers rotation if he pitches well enough this spring. Follow his progress closely in NL-only leagues.
    • Brewers add potential starter in Lofgren

News: The Brewers selected lefty starting pitcher prospect Charles Lofgren in the Rule-5 draft from the Indians.
Analysis: Lofgren is talented enough to start for the offensively potent Brewers, which would make him a sleeper in NL-only leagues on Draft Day. Watch him closely in spring training in case it looks like he is talented and healthy enough to win a rotation spot.
    • Lofgren off to good start in Double-A

News: Indians prospect Chuck Lofgren has a 1.13 ERA and 1-0 record through his first three starts for Double-A Akron. He has 12 strikeouts and six walks with just two earned runs allowed in his first 16 innings of the season.
Analysis: Lofgren is a top-notch pitching prospect who will have to bide his time in the minors until the team considers he is ready. Consider him in long-term keeper leagues at this point.
    • Indians cut some elite prospects

News: The Indians optioned RHP Adam Miller and LHP Reid Santos to Triple-A Buffalo and optioned 1B Michael Aubrey and LHP Scott Lewis to Double-A Akron. Also, they reassigned LHP Chuck Lofgren to minor league camp.
Analysis: Miller and Lofgren are outstanding pitching prospects who would be worthy of consideration in all Fantasy leagues if they get looks in the Indians rotation this spring. Aubrey has pop, too, but he plays a position that is tough to make a splash in as a rookie. Consider those three in keeper leagues and ignore Santos and Lewis in all formats on Draft Day.
    • Indians invite some prospects to camp

News: The Indians invited LHP Chuck Lofgren, RHP J.D. Martin, RHP Jeffrey Stevens, C Chris Gimenez, C David Wallace, 1B Jordan Brown, 1B Beau Mills and OF Trevor Crowe to spring training.
Analysis: Lofgren, Brown and Mills are elite prospects for long-term keeper leagues. Crowe was once a highly regarded talent on the level of a Jacoby Ellsbury before a disappointing 2007. These other players can be ignored as organizational depth at this point.
    • Lofgren has great Futures moment

News: Cleveland's Chuck Lofgren, a Bay Area product who went to the same high school as Giants star Barry Bonds, pitched a scoreless second inning in the Futures Game on Sunday for the U.S. team, striking out Freddy Sandoval. Lofgren also was an accomplished hitter at Serra High School, hitting 10 homers as a junior to tie Bonds for fourth most in a season at the school. "I lived out my dream and got to strike someone out," Lofgren said. "It was a great experience, especially for someone who grew up here. It was the best feeling of my life, even better than when I was drafted."
Analysis: Lofgren is a top-notch pitching prospect who will have to bide his time in the minors until 2008. Consider him in long-term keeper leagues at this point.
    • Lofgren nets five innings per start

News: Indians SP prospect Chuck Lofgren has totaled 20 innings this season for Double-A Akron and has lasted just five innings in each of his four starts. He is 2-2 with a 4.05 ERA and 26 strikeouts.
Analysis: Lofgren is one of the best pitching prospects in baseball, but he's going to likely spend the entire year in the minors. Consider him in long-term keeper leagues.
    • Indians make five minor cuts

News: The Indians optioned OF Brad Snyder to Triple-A Buffalo, re-assigned C Javier Herrera, LHP Scott Lewis, LHP Chuck Lofgren and Aaron Laffey to minor-league camp.
Analysis: Lofgren is one of the best pitching prospects in baseball, but he's going to likely spend the entire year in the minors. Consider him in long-term keeper leagues. The others are not projectable at this point, so ignore them on Draft Day.
