      The White Sox have optioned catcher Rob Brantly to their Triple-A team in Charlotte and have reassigned outfielder Courtney Hawkins and infielder Juan Diaz to their minor league camp, reports MLB.comIn 18 at-bats this spring, Brantley hit .167 with one home run and three RBI.Hawkins hit .412 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 34 at-bats while Diaz hit .250 in 16 at-bats.

      Penny, Carroll among players signed to minor-league deals by ChiSox

      The White Sox announced Thursday they signed 15 players to minor-league contracts, which included invites to spring training. The 15 players were pitchers Jairo Asencio, Scott Carroll, Jesse Crain, Logan Kensing, Arcenio Leon, J.D.       Indians designate Tim Fedroff, Juan Diaz for assignment

      The Cleveland Indians promoted five players from the minors as part of September callups Sunday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. In order to make room, the team designated outfielder Tim Fedroff and infielder Juan Diaz for assignment. Both players were at Triple-A Columbus for most of this season. Fedroff batted .242 (124 for 513) with six home runs, 48 RBI and 22 stolen bases over 136 games. Diaz, who did see some time up with Cleveland at one point this year, batted .242 with eight homers and 45 RBI over 122 games at Columbus.
