Trade of Dickerson opens up spot for Gerardo Parra

It was difficult to know exactly what to think when the Rockies originally signed Gerardo Parra, but with the trade of Dickerson to the Rays it becomes more clear. Parra's start to 2015 in Milwaukee was the best baseball he'd played of his career and it should surprise anyone if he approaches those numbers in Colorado. With exposure to Coors and regular playing time, Parra should be a threat for 15 HR and 15 SB with an OPS around .750. He'll be a borderline fourth outfielder in Fantasy leagues worth drafting in the middle to later rounds.

Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra returns to lineup Thursday

Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra (shoulder) is starting in center field and hitting leadoff Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. He tweaked his shoulder Wednesday and was not expected to play Thursday, but apparently he was feeling well when he woke up. Adam Jones (back) remains out, but even when he returns, Parra should be in the lineup most days.

Orioles OF Gerardo Parra slams five hits in Sunday laugher

Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra can't be shedding any tears that the Athletics are sticking around Monday. He apparently likes the sight of their uniforms. Parra feasted on their pitching Friday and Saturday. But he really went wild Sunday with five hits, all in the first six innings, including a solo homer in the first that launched the rout. He was merely warming up with the blast. He singled in a run in the second, singled and scored, then slammed an RBI double in the fifth, and singled in the sixth. Parra has nine hits and seven runs scored so far in the four-game series. He has 18 hits in 61 at-bats since joining Baltimore.

Brewers send LF Gerardo Parra to Orioles for SP Zach Davies

The Brewers have traded left fielder Gerardo Parra to the Orioles for highly touted pitching prospect Zach Davies, per CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Only successful physicals are holding up its completion. It was thought at one time that Baltimore would need to give up more to land Parra, who is on a 13-game hitting streak and has sweetened his slash line on the year to .326/.369/.517. Davies has progressed through the system every year. He is enjoying arguably his finest season at Triple-A Norfolk with a 2.84 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 101 1/3 innings.
