      Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra returns to lineup Thursday

      Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra (shoulder) is starting in center field and hitting leadoff Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. He tweaked his shoulder Wednesday and was not expected to play Thursday, but apparently he was feeling well when he woke up. Adam Jones (back) remains out, but even when he returns, Parra should be in the lineup most days.

      Orioles OF Gerardo Parra hurts shoulder Wednesday

      Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra tweaked his shoulder during Wednesday's game and could be held out of the lineup Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Manager Buck Showalter did not seem overly concerned about Parra's setback, but he may give Parra a day to rest Thursday, particularly if Adam Jones (back) is ready to play. Parra's status will be known when the Orioles release their lineup a few hours prior to first pitch.

      Orioles OF Gerardo Parra slams five hits in Sunday laugher

      Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra can't be shedding any tears that the Athletics are sticking around Monday. He apparently likes the sight of their uniforms. Parra feasted on their pitching Friday and Saturday. But he really went wild Sunday with five hits, all in the first six innings, including a solo homer in the first that launched the rout. He was merely warming up with the blast. He singled in a run in the second, singled and scored, then slammed an RBI double in the fifth, and singled in the sixth. Parra has nine hits and seven runs scored so far in the four-game series. He has 18 hits in 61 at-bats since joining Baltimore.

      Orioles' Gerardo Parra extends hit streak in first game with new team

      New Orioles outfielder Gerardo Parra made his team debut in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Tigers. Parra went 1 for 3 with a double (his 25th of the year) and a run scored. With the two-bagger, Parra increased his current hit streak to 15 games, tying new teammate J.J. Hardy for the longest active streak in the majors. Parra, who has been swinging the bat well all year, is batting .453 with five doubles, three triples and a home run over the course of his streak.

      Orioles DFA Chris Parmelee to make room for Gerardo Parra

      Outfielder Gerardo Parra reported to the Orioles and will be active on Friday, the team announced. Parra was acquired from Milwaukee at the trade deadline. To make room, the Orioles designated infielder Chris Parmelee for assignment. Parmelee was hitting .216 for the Orioles this season.

      The Brewers have traded left fielder Gerardo Parra to the Orioles for highly touted pitching prospect Zach Davies, per Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Only successful physicals are holding up its completion. It was thought at one time that Baltimore would need to give up more to land Parra, who is on a 13-game hitting streak and has sweetened his slash line on the year to .326/.369/.517. Davies has progressed through the system every year. He is enjoying arguably his finest season at Triple-A Norfolk with a 2.84 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 101 1/3 innings.

      Brewers outfielder Gerardo Parra was all over the basepaths on Tuesday. The hot-hitting Parra went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and three runs scored in the 5-2 win over the Giants. Parra proved to be a tough out for Matt Cain in this one, as Parra extended his current hitting streak to 12 games. He's batting .452 with four doubles and three triples over that 12-game stretch.

      Brewers outfielder Gerardo Parra took a pitch off his foot in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks. He hobbled around and was checked on by the trainer, but was able to stay in the game. He went 1 for 3 and scored a run in the 8-3 loss. Parra says he expects to be able to play on Friday. "When it [happened], I thought it was something big. But it's nothing bad. I'm ready to play [Friday] for sure," he said, per Parra has been frequently mentioned as a possible trade candidate with the Brewers swiftly falling out of contention.

      Brewers left fielder Gerardo Parra went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles in the 4-1 win over the Pirates on Friday. Parra also scored a run and drove in another, giving him 30 RBI on the season. Parra has carried his hot hitting into the second half of the season, as he is now batting .387 with four doubles, three home runs and six RBI over his last nine games (seven starts).
