Blue Jays GM says Wilton Lopez could make 25-man roster

Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos had good things to say about reliever Wilton Lopez on Wednesday, according to Sportsnet. Lopez signed with the club during the offseason, but Anthopoulos admitted the team attempted to trade for him when he was still with Colorado. While Lopez will have to pitch well enough to earn his spot, Anthopoulos believes he's capable of helping the team right out of camp. "We definitely think he's got quite a bit of upside to make the team," Anthopoulos said. "If he's the guy he's been, he'll have a very good chance to make the team." Lopez, 31, owns a 3.54 ERA over 305 1/3 career innings.
