      Pirates' John Jaso: Signs two-year deal with Pirates

      Jaso signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Pirates on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports. Jaso served mainly as a designated hitter for the Rays last season, but is expected to shift over to first base upon arriving in Pittsburgh. With just Mike Morse and Jason Rogers competing with him for playing time, the veteran appears to be the early favorite for everyday duties at the position.
